:: About Us::

Hello I am Nicole, the host of this site and the owner of the group. If you found your way to this page then you want a little bit of background on us and what our website and group is all about. Our website has been up and running for a few months now, our group however has been around for nearly 2 years. I created our group when I found myself to be going through my first deployment as a Marine Girlfriend. I wasn't sure what to expect, I had no one near me that was going to understand what I was going to be going through, so I hopped on here and tried to find some support groups on yahoo. And I have to be honest, I was very disappointed. The groups weren't that active, they didn't reply to make ladies, they didn't seem to take interest in any of the girls. The owner of the groups just seemed to be in for the authority, everyone seemed to be in it for the wrong reasons. I took matters into my own hands, I thought that if I felt like this then are probably other ladies who feel the same way, so I created usmc-gals. Which was the best thing that I have ever done, these girls are amazing and its so great to see a whole bunch of women in the same situations coming together and supporting one another. We now have over 200 members and we are one of the most active groups on yahoo. We give each other advice, opinions, if you need a quick boost from time to time, we give it to you! I have to be honest, I think that if it wasn't for this group and the ladies in it, I think that the deployment I had to go through would have been a lot harder on me. After a while, I started receiving so many great e-mails from girls in the groups. Telling me that the group is amazing, it has really helped them out, and even thanking me for making the group. And a while after those e-mails, there have been ladies joining the group who have heard how great it is and want to take part in it. Its been so full filling to me to know that I have made a great place for women to go to who would like the support from other women who are like them. The majority of us know that its hard when you are new to the Marine Corps, whether you be  a new Marine Girlfriend or a New Wife. Being a new wife can be though especially when you are moving to where your hubby is stationed and you have no friends down there, that is another great thing about usmc gals. Our group is filled with women all over, you can meet some new ladies who just may be stationed by you, meet up and make some new friends. I cant tell you how many ladies have made some awesome friends in our group, they get so close they start to talk on the phone and then one day meet! But you know what I could go on all day long about our group, I think the only way for you to understand what I am saying is to check it out for yourself and experience it for yourself.

Onto the website, like I said earlier the website has not been around as long as our group has. I created the website back in December of 2004. I wanted to make a place for us on the net. You don't have to be a member here to have access to our site, our site provides a lot of good information to help you on your way. I wanted a place for the ladies in our group and for other ladies who are not in our group to go to to get that sort of information. There are tons of websites out there that offer great information on the Marine Corps, but some of it is either hard to understand, or just gets too detailed. Here you have the information you needed, and ever more things. Like free graphics, poems, recipes, what to expect, etc.. With that said I think its pretty much self explanatory why I created this site and this group. My boyfriend was in the Marine Corps for 4 years, he actually got out last Oct. And I grew a love for the Marine Corps as well as these wonderful women who stand beside their man. Its amazing to see what they all go through and how they over come it and still remain strong individuals. I do it for them.

There are some ladies I would like to thank. My co-owner and my moderators. Girls I don't know how I would have been able to complete all of this without your help. You ladies have been there for me through everything and have stood by me. When I cant be there, you ladies are there keeping the group in shape. You ladies have been a huge help in all of us and have been amazing friends to me. I am so thankful to have met you all!
I also would like to thank all of the members in usmc-gals. Thank you for all the things that you ladies have done. I don't even know where to start, but you ladies  are a big part in making this website possible. If it wasn't for all your great words of encouragement and opinions on everything I don't know it this website would have been possible. Thank you for all your great friendships through out the years and for your commitment to the group.
And the last person I would to thank, is my boyfriend Deion. I saved the best for last. If it wasn't for Deion I would not have made this website or this group. He has put up with a lot from me, i spend the majority of my free time on the computer working on then group, working on he website, replying to posts and working on the groups store. And he has been so supportive and so understanding. He doesn't complain when I am here to long, because he knows that this is something that I enjoy doing and something that I am very very committed to. I just have to say thank you sweetie. Thank you for being there for me when I need you, I love you!
